Class 1 Melt Program

B.C.’s Class 1 MELT program requires 140 total hours and includes significantly more on-road and yard driving hours, on-the-ground hours, and theoretical instructional hours set by Standard 16 of the National Safety Code. In addition to 50 hours on-highway and 37 hours in- and around-the-vehicle, B.C. has 15.5 hours of theoretical and hands-on air brake training, more than twice the 8.5 hours.

Class 3 Training

Champion Driving School Offers class 3 training which allows a person to drive vehicles with more than two axles, such as dump trucks and large tow trucks, but does not allow driving a bus carrying passengers and to drive any vehicle in Class 5.

Class 4 Training

Champion Driving School Offers class 4 training which allows a person to drive a  taxi or limo (up to 10 passengers including the chauffeur, if applicable), work for Uber or Lyft and to drive any vehicle in Class 5.

Class 5 Training

Champion Driving School Offers class 5 training which allows a person to operate cars, vans, trucks, construction, utility vehicles (2 axles maximum) and motorhomes (may exceed 2 axles)

Class 7 Training

Champion Driving School Offers class 7 training which allows a person to operate  cars, vans, trucks, construction, utility vehicles (2 axles maximum) and motorhomes (may exceed 2 axles) with graduated licensing restrictions.
